Christine writes the way I want to write--beautiful, intense, deep. Simply put, she is brilliant.
She's also a bit of a tease.
Because she wrote this little, tiny book, DIES IRAE, to warm us up for the real deal coming in March. But while DIES IRAE is small in size, it lacks nothing of a full-length, grand novel. I still felt the feelings, loved the characters, and was drawn into the story so completely that (and this is the bad part) I didn't want to stop reading. Thankfully, LACRIMOSA, book one in Christine's Requiem series, which DIES IRAE sets up, will be out in March, so huzzah!
Christine's Requiem series has a lot of similarities to my Desolation series. Well, in so far that it has to do with angels, fallen angels, demons, choice and consequence and other end-of-the-world type scenarios. Neither of of our books have much in the way of humor, so Christine and I thought we'd lighten it up a little and do a fun interview between her Mikayel and my Desolation. Except, both characters are awfully angsty, so it didn't turn out to be so much fun as expository.Still, I hope you enjoy it, and then head on over to Amazon or Barnes&Noble and get yourself a copy of DIES IRAE! You won't regret it, and then you'll be ready for LACRIMOSA's debut in just a few weeks!
