#narleyninja Christine Fonseca!

I've known today's ninja for almost two years now. (Really? Feels like we've been friends forever.) Christine Fonseca is brilliant, kind, a give-the-shirt-off-her-back kind of woman. And man, can she write!

I'm so not surprised she chose to talk about Meditation today because she's a psychologist and a person who works hard to keep herself grounded.

I asked, How do you stay grounded? and Christine answered . . .

I love this question. How do I stay grounded? My family, meditation (every day 30 – 60 minutes), exercise (3x a week), an occasional walk, a little primal screaming from time to time (just kidding – okay, maybe not kidding) = all of these things help me stay grounded.  I am a very intense person, as all of my friends will tell you, so it is vital that I “check in” with myself often and take time for me. Otherwise, I drift too close to the edge of a rather large cliff. Thank goodness my friends have a keen way of giving me reality checks from time to time!

School psychologist by day, critically acclaimed YA and nonfiction author by night, Christine Fonseca believes that writing is a great way to explore humanity. Her debut YA Gothic series, The Requiem Series, including DIES IRAE and LACRIMOSA, examines the role of redemption, sacrifice and love. Her nonfiction titles include 101 SUCCESS SECRETS FOR GIFTED KIDS and EMOTIONAL INTENSITY IN GIFTED STUDENTS.

Christine's first love is writing YA thrillers - gothic and psychological - and yes, all with romantic elements. She's been writing on and off since childhood, but seriously writing (with the intent of being published) for 4 years. Currently, she's working on the last two books (and two shorts) in the Requiem Series. After that she has a psychological thriller being edited, two thrillers half written, and a new series in development. Very exciting times!

Awesome that you meditate Christina. I need to get back to my own meditation practice. I've been doing it for years but somehow fell out of practice with all this blogging.

Natalie - I struggle to make the time for it, but I am so much more grounded when I meditate and walk. So, with my crazy schedule of late, I am back at it.

Alex - HA! My husband keeps me grounded as well!

Meditation is something I often suggest to others when they've reached a stess point but haven't made a regular habit of for myself.

I've got to do better.

Thanks for sharing how you keep grounded as this can provide great ideas for others struggling with that aspect.
