spread the indie-author love by celebrating INDIEpendence Day!

There is still this little something that goes off in people's brains (including my own!) when you tell them you are self-published, or that you admire an author who is self-published. It's because for a long while now, self-or-small-press-published authors have suffered from the initial craze of "easy" publishing and, let's face it, a lot of crap came out. That is to say, a lot of not-so-awesome books were published.

But not all indie-published (self published and those published by small presses) are bad. In fact, more and more truly excellent authors are turning to indie publishing as a viable way to stay close to their readers and publish more quickly and with greater creative control.

The trick is, discovering the gems amid the stones.

Well, that's where INDIEpendence Day comes in!

Next week, on July 2nd, the Indelibles are celebrating
excellence in indie publishing and we invite you to join us!

If you've read a great indie book this year or last, please join the blogfest and spread the word. This is a Pay It Forward event--please don't post about your own book, or an Indelibles' book.

Here's how it works:
  1. PICK A BOOK: Pick an indie (self-published or small press) book that you have either read and loved or want to read.
  2. WRITE A POST: On INDIEpendence Day (July 2nd), write a post about that book. It can be a review, an interview with the author, or a post highlighting the book.
  3. CLICK BELOW: Join the linky at the bottom of this post to be a part of the fun! See this Indelibles post for more details and a special giveaway as well.
I hope you'll join us!

  1. This is such a great idea. I really wish there was some kind of independent review board for Indie novels because it really is hard to wade through the meh to find the gems.

  2. Great idea! Bummer I'm on vacation until Tuesday and then it's the IWSG post day.

Welcome Fellow Ninjas! Gimme your best palm strike, karate chop, side kick or roundhouse. I'm ready!
