Because The Fionavar Tapestry, a trilogy by Guy Gavriel Kay is like poetry in prose.
I wanted to write like that.
I don't know if I achieved it. At least, by general opinion. But last night I was at a neighborhood party and talked with my twelve-year-old friend, Anna. She said the words I've dreamed ten years to hear:
"Your writing is so beautiful. You've inspired me to write like you."
I can't possibly claim to be as good a writer as Kay, but he did inspire me. And, in turn, it seems I have inspired Anna.
Who will Anna inspire? Many, I'm sure.
I am humbled to be a part of this chain of inspiration. What a wonderful, beautiful thing to pass on.
Who has inspired you, and how?
See you on Monday with my INDIEgiving winners!
